For me, painting is about the journey. That needs to be said. So much emphasis of success is put on the end product. Material success can quickly come and quickly go away. I could have a gallery show in Chelsea, fans will want to take selfies with me, but a year later, who of 300 galleries will take the time to look at my work seriously?
